Q: WHO MAKES THE RENOVATION DECISIONS?
A: Although we intend to use our reasonable efforts to respect your wishes concerning the renovation, ultimately, decisions regarding design, all design elements, materials, supplies and all other aspects of the renovation shall be made by Income Property's experts.
Q: HOW DO I KNOW IF I'M ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION?
A: In order to be eligible for consideration, candidates:
- Must be located within the Greater Toronto Area
- Must have a realistic budget for the renovation.
- Must be available for 10 non-consecutive shoot days (7-8 half days; 2-3 full days).
NB: Due to city zoning bylaws, the following locations are not eligible for consideration at this time: Brampton, Mississauga, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Maple, and Woodbridge.

Q: CAN INCOME PROPERTY RENOVATE MORE THAN ONE UNIT IN MY HOUSE?
A: No, we can only renovate one mutually-agreed upon unit.
Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SHOOT AN EPISODE?
A: Shooting an episode of Income Property requires approximately 10 non-consecutive shoot days of on-camera participation, over approximately 8 weeks. 2-3 of the shoots are full days, and 7-8 are half days.
Q: DO I NEED A PROPERTY SURVEY TO PARTICIPATE ON THE SHOW?
A: If you do not have a property survey, and the building department requires one in order to issue permits, you will be responsible for the cost of commissioning one (approximately $1300 - $1500).
Q: IF I WANT TO RENT OUT MY BASEMENT, DO THE CEILINGS NEED TO BE A CERTAIN HEIGHT?
A: Yes, the minimum clearance for eligibility is 6’5” under
ducts and support beams, and 6’11” in 75% of the area. These are the
guidelines determined by the Ontario Building Code, and we are unable to
make any exceptions to these requirements.
